How to Build Your Ontology

DecisionX transforms your raw data into a knowledge graph, a structured map of how your business entities, people, and processes connect. Think of it as teaching the system your business logic automatically.

Uploading Your Data

1. Navigate to Ontology Studio from the left sidebar
2. Click Upload Files
3. Select your files (PDF, Excel, or CSV formats supported)
4. Click Upload

Aether, our ingestion engine, immediately begins Structure Detection

• Identifies business objects in your data (deals, products, accounts, people)
• Maps organizational dimensions (regions, time periods, hierarchies)
• Connects entities through relationships (who owns what, which stage something's in)

Ontology Coverage Score

Your Coverage Score measures how much business intelligence the system has learned relative to the structural data it's mapped.

Example:

• 275 total nodes + 323 connections = 598 elements
• 15 concepts + 15 rules + 89 intelligence connections = 119 elements
• Coverage: 119 ÷ 598 = 20%

Why Coverage Changes

Coverage increases when:

• Aether discovers more patterns in existing data
• You add custom concepts that the system didn't find
• You run deeper analyses

Coverage stays flat when:

• You upload more data in the same domain (denominator and numerator grow proportionally)

Coverage drops when:

• You add a completely new data domain (reveals gaps in understanding)
• This is actually good—it shows you what you don't yet understand
• Run EDA on the new domain to recover and improve coverage

‍Target: Aim for 40-50% coverage before running complex analyses. Most production systems operate at 25-35% coverage.
